A sepia photograph dated 1903 showed a little weatherboard cottage in a paddock by the river with a few weeping willows and little else. The transformation process began in 1989. Willowbank is now a lush green oasis of trees, shrubs, flowers and sweeping lawns leading down to the river bank.

On the right is the coppiced trunk of one of the original willows

Hedges of lavender, English roses, rhododendrons and flowering cherry provide seasonal flushes of colour....
